BURNHAM--In this city, on the 13th inst., Mr. John Burmham, in the fifty-third year of his age.
Mr. Burnham was born at New Ipswich, New Hampshire, August 31st, 1825. He removed to Delaware, Ohio, in 1846, and in July, 1856, became a citizen of Burlington, where he has been engaged in active business for the last twenty-one years. A man of industrious habits, of skill, of enterprise, and of sterling integrity, with perfect simplicity of manners, he won universal esteem and regard. He served as a member of the building committee of the Congregational Society in the erection ot their house of worship, and by his judgment, and taste, and patient service and devotion, contributed largely to that work. Mr. Burnham has been in failing health for the last two years. For thirty-two days before his death he was unable to take any nourishment whatever. With remarkable calmness, fortitude, and Christian hope, he bore up under extreme sufferings, and entered into rest with perfect resignation. Two of his children preceded him to a better world.
His funeral will lake place from the Congregational Church, Friday morning, at half-past ten o'clock. Friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend.
