ESTHER FRANCES FENTON

Esther Frances Fenton, 71, of Burlington died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Blair House.

Born Jan. 31, 1941, in Edina, Mo., she was the daughter of John A. and Mabel S. Snell Mutchler. On Oct. 14, 1961, she married Verle L. Fenton in Oquawka, Ill. He died Feb. 26, 2005.

Mrs. Fenton worked at Leopold for 17 years and Winegard for more than a year.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her family and friends, attending flea markets, playing Yahtzee, taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her dog and serving up her delicious fried chicken.

Survivors include two sons, John Verle Fenton and Steve Michael Fenton, both of Burlington; three daughters, Rebecca Melinda Fenton, Frances Lorayne Fenton and Dianna Ruth Fenton, all of Burlington; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one daughter.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Prugh's Chapel, where family will receive friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Fenton will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Mike Orthel officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Blair House.
