J. J. TALBERT DIES; FUNERAL TO BE SUNDAY

J. J. Talbert, 80-year-old retired farmer, whose home is at 711 Whiteman street, died late yesterday afternoon in St. Francis hospital, and funeral services will be held In the Burnett-Wallcn funeral homo Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial In Shiloh church cemetery on the Lower Augusta road at 3:30 o'clock. Rev. C. R. Springer will officiate.

Mr. Talbert was born In Des Moines county, Oct. 3, 1852, but lived in Cantril, Ia., for a time, returning to this county 20 years ago. He was married April 27, 1873 to Minnie M. Neautmann of Augusta, who survives him. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Besides his widow he Is survived by one son, Frank Talbert of Columbus Junction; three daughters, Mrs. Lincoln Moyers of Burlington, Mrs. Otto Mohrling of Carman, Ill., and Mrs. Ralph Van Fleet of Milton, Ia., one adopted son, Ed O. Talbert, of Peoria, Ill., and nine grandchildren. Two sons died in childhood.
