MRS. IDA BELLE TOPPING

Mrs. Ida Belle Topping, aged 84 years, widow of John W. Topping, died at her home in Burlington at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, after an illness of several months.

Born in Utica, in Van Buren county, July 12, 1860, she moved to Burlington 48 years ago. The Toppings were married March 15, 1883. Moving to Kansas, they later returned to Iowa in 1888 and to Burlington in 1896. Mrs. Topping was a member of the First Congregational church and of the Aid society.

Surviving are two sons and four daughters, Clyde H. of Burlington, Mrs. Daniel Upp of Chicago, Glenn H. of Burlington, Mrs. Walter Metz, Burlington, Mrs. Frank Lyons, Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Leslie A. Wilson of Davenport. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, also survive.

Conducted by Rev. Bruce Maselink of First Congregational church, services were held at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Monday with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery, Burlington.
