Services for Herman August Brenneke, 88, 2006 Baumberger, who died in Burlington hospital Friday at 1:40 p.m. after a brief illness, will be held in Prugh's chapel, Tuesday, at 2 p.m. The Reverend Emmanuel Woff will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

He was a member of Oak Street Baptist church, having the longest continuous membership, after joining the church 74 years ago.

He was born in Des Moines county, October 31, 1867, the son of Frederick and Dorothea Brenneke. In 1892 he married Anna W. Broeker in Des Moines county.

He was a retired employee of the C.B.&Q. shops at West Burlington, and a member of the Railroad Veterans association.

Surviving are his wife; nine children: Leslie, Earl Clifford, and Martin, all of San Francisco, California; Harvey of Portland, Oregon; Ralph of Burlington; Carrie G. Brenneke of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Ruth Dawson of Mount Vernon, Ohio; and Mrs. Reva Cuddeback of Burlington and a number of grandchildren; a great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Marie Kuechman and Mrs. Hulda Wilke, both of Burlington, and a number of nieces and nephews.
