Robert J. Mohler, 74, of 815 South Garfield Avenue, died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 1991, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

Born December 24, 1916, in Burlington, he was the son of Adam and Regina E. Stodt Mohler. He married Anna Mae A. Miller on July 19, 1941, in Burlington.

He was a 1937 graduate of St. Paul's Catholic High School and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed with the Burlington Northern Railroad at the West Burlington Shops, retiring in July 1977 with 40 years of service. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Burlington Northern Railroad Veterans, AARP, River Bend Credit Union and a 50-year veteran of the International Association of Machinists of Aerospace Workers No. 531. He was a past member of the Zephyr Credit Union, the Eagles Lodge and the Mainliners.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Larry J. Mohler, Danville; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline (Michael) Briear, Burlington, and Mrs. Linda (Gary) Beckman, Danville; one sister, Mrs. Rose Robinson, Burlington; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call until 5 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in the chapel followed by family visitation until 8:30 p.m.

The service for Mr. Mohler will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Reverend John Hyland officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
