Frank John Stodt, 84, of Route 3, Wapello Road, died Tuesday at 5:15 a.m. in Mercy hospital.

He was born December 19, 1882, in Austria, the son of John and Mary Nuz Stodt. January 9, 1909, he married Elsie Schultke at West Burlington. Mr. Stodt was a retired Burlington railroad shops employee. He was also a member of St. Mary's church of West Burlington.

Surviving: The wife; three sons, Victor M. Stodt, Burlington, Leo F. Stodt, West Burlington rural, and Paul H. Stodt, West Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. Crystal Stoykovich, Lynwood, California; and Mrs. Berniece A. McCoy, Ft. Dodge; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services: Thursday 9 a.m. in St. Mary's of West Burlington, the Reverend Joseph Pound; St. Mary's cemetery. Rosary: Prugh's chapel Wednesday at 7 p.m.
