Charles Edward Burgus, 92, of rural Sperry, died at 9 a.m. Monday, August 6 , at his home.

Mr. Burgus, a retired farmer, was born September 22, 1878, in Des Moines county, the son of William and Margaret Brumm Burgus, and on February 24, 1904, in Des Moines county he married Lida W. Kellogg.

He was a member of the Kingston Methodist church.

Surviving: One son, Cecil, of Sperry; three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Fry's chapel, Mediapolis.
