Mediapolis (IA) -- Mrs. Amanda L. Johnson, 70, died December 9, at her home near Wapello, following a 10-day illness.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Letsch, she was born August 15, 1876, at Barstow, Illinois, and married John Johnson June 6, 1898.

Surviving are the husband, 3 daughters, Mrs. Harry Dotson, Wapello, Mrs. Louis Bloomberg, Burlington. and Mrs. Rothel Walker, Mediapolis; a son, Millard Johnson, Wapello, 3 sisters, Mrs. Pauline Relling and Mrs. William Kiede, Port Byron, Illinois, and Mrs. Linda Hicks, East Moline, Illinois. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, at the home, followed by a service at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran church in Mediapolis.

Reverend Rupert Hull will officiate, and burial will be in Kossuth cemetery.
