A.H. GUGELER, RETIRED FARMER, TAKEN BY DEATH

A. H. Gugeler, retired farmer and native of Des Moines county, died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at the Burlington hospital following an eight weeks illness.

Mr. Gugeler was born in Union township, December 19, 1855 and resided on a farm there until five years ago when he retired and came to Burlington to live. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical church.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Carl, and is survived by three sons, Oscar W. Gugeler, Edward Gugeler and Walter Gugeler, all of Des Moines county; one daughter, Mrs. Clyde Sourwine,one sister, Mrs. Anna Miller of Burlington and six grandchildren.

The body was taken to Prugh's chapel and will, remain there until Saturday morning when It will be taken to the home of Edward Gugeler on the Hunt road, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Burial will be in Porter cemetery.
