Roemer.

Balthasur Roemer passed away at 5 o'clock Monday morning at his home, five miles from the city, on the Hunt road. He was a native of Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, arid came to America twenty years ago, locating In Des Moines county. His good wife passed away several yours ago. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Louisa Hlllgaertner and Mrs. Elizabeth Schilling, of this county; Mrs. Eliza Schelling of Scribney, Neb., and Mrs. Laura Schming, of Godfrey, Okla., Deceased was a good man, a consistent member of St. Lukas Evangelical church. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Wm. Hillgaertner residence. Interment in Porter cemetery.
