Emma Pearl Stovall, 66, wife of George Stovall, a former manager of the Cleveland Indians and major league baseball player, died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday in Mercy hospital after a brief illness.
A resident of Los Angeles, Calif., for many years, she had been visiting her brothers and sisters in Burlington for the last 3 weeks when she became ill.
Mrs. Stovall was born Oct 7, 1884, in Burlington, the daughter of Rudolph and Barbara Senn, and married Stovall Oct. 19, 1904, in Burlington. She was a member of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are her husband, 2 sisters, Mrs Harry Sowden and Mrs. Charles Schweitzer, both of Burlington; 6 brothers, Rudolph, Fred and John Senn, all of Burlington,; Anthony Senn, Des Moines; Albert Senn, who lives in New Jersey; and Howard Senn, Adrian, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and a sister are dead.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Prugh's chapel with Rev. Lightner Swan officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
