James L. Parrish

Born in Galesburg, IL he was the son of LeRoy and Zella Walker Parrish. He married Karen S. Rohrer on May 10, 1969 in Burlington. They later divorced. He married Sharon Schach Unzicker on February 17, 1996 in Burlington. Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Burlington; his mother Zella of Burlington; two sons, Ryan Parrish and Jim Unzicker both of Burlington; one daughter, Jan Kemp of Burlington; three grandsons; one brother, Gene Parrish of Knoxville, IL; three sisters, Martha Lumberry of Dahinda, IL, Mary Anderson of Carman, IL and Becky Johnson of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, one brother-in-law, one great nephew and his grandparents. Mr. Parrish was a 1964 graduate of Williamsfield High School, Williamsfield, IL. He was a grain inspector at Meeker's for 18 years. Most recently he worked at BG's Buy N Bye on the corner of Summer and Harrison for four years. He was member of Spring Grove United Methodist Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 579, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Burlington Aerie No. 150 and the AARP. Memorials have been established to the American Diabetes Association an the Great River Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.
