Louise Hinkson Koballa 1920 - 2005

Born May 30, 1920, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Harry and Ethel Penny Hinkson. She married Edward Koballa and they later divorced.

Mrs. Koballa was an advertising executive and commercial artist. During her youth in Burlington, she worked in a flower shop, the post office and J.S. Schramm & Co. She was a secretary for Paul Bencoe and was employed by Serigraph Galleries, American-Mitchell Fashion Publishers, Roy S. Durstine Advertising Agency and did advertising research for Daniel C. Starch in New York.

She attended J.W. Grimes Elementary School, Horace Mann Junior High School and Burlington High School, graduating in 1938. She was a graduate of Burlington Junior College, University of Iowa and Parsons School of Design in New York. In 1942, she enlisted in the Waves, the Women's Reserve branch of the Navy.

Survivors include two first cousins, Mary Ann Dunn and Kenneth Hinkson, and three second cousins, Dorothy Walz, Betty Carhoff and Patricia Boyle.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside ash committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
