Keith L. Conger, Sr., 77, of Keosauqua, formerly of Burlington, died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1997, at Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua.

Born June 30, 1920, in Ollie, he was the son of Charles and Myrtle Baughman Conger. On May 22, 1943, he married Juanita Jane Inghram in Kahoka, Mo. She died Feb. 10, 1990.

Mr. Conger was a heavy equipment operator for Raid, Crane and Cessford Quarries for many years, retiring in 1972. He farmed prior to that.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Miller of Keosauqua and Nancy Christofferson of Burlington; one son, Keith C. "Butch" Conger, Jr. of Burlington; one stepson, Donald Stewart of Marshall, Ark.; three half-brothers, Charles Traxler and Berdine Traxler, both of Ottumwa, and Dallas Traxler of Kansas City, Mo.; and one half-sister, Mary Green of El Reno, Okla; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial in Burlington Memorial Cemetery.
