Floyd Hal Mertens, 78, of 1115 Vine St.m died Monday, Feb. 15, in Burlington Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired employee of Chittenden and Eastman Co.
Mr. Mertens was born Oct. 6, 1892, at Flora, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mertens. He was a veteran of World War I.
He was married to Bessie Spencer at Northwood, Ia., on June 5, 1926.
Mr. Mertens was a member of Grace United Methodist church and of the Masonic lodge and the VFW.
Surviving: the wife; two step-daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Haight, Fresno, Calif. and Mrs. Maxine Neakrase, La Grange Park, Ill; two grandchildren.
Funeral: Sheagren funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Carl Klein; Aspen Grove Cemetery
