Clarence C. Hartman, 82, of 1400 s. Garfield, died at 8:38 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Burlington Medical Center.
He was born April 28, 1895, the son of Kosmos and Minnie Hartman. He married Ruth Hertel, August 30, 1921, in Burlington.
He was a former commissioner of public safety and served on the Burlington police force for 25 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War I, a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks and the American Legion.
Surviving: the wife; one daughter, Mary Rose, Fremont, Mich.; one son, Robert Hartmann, Syracuse, New York.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Prugh's chapel, Rev. Robert Buhr; Aspen Grove cemetery.
