Helen G. Hunger, 90, formerly of 1401 S. 10th St., Burlington died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at the Klein Unit of Burlington Medical Center.
She was born July 15, 1906, in Burlington, the daughter of Frederick and Martha Riepe Hunger.
She was a school teacher in the Burlington school system for 43 years. She enjoyed writing poems and sang in the church choir at St. Luke United Church of Christ, and First United Methodist Church, along with Bel Canto Choir. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association and was a life member of St. Luke United Church of Christ.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and seven brothers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Sheagren Funeral Home.
The funeral for Miss Hunger will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sheagren Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Selberg officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to St. Luke United Church of Christ.
