Charles Easton Hartman

Charles Easton Hartman, 92, of Sperry, died 12:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 1988, at the St. Francis Continuation Care Center.

Born June 18, 1895, in Sharon Springs, N.Y., he was the son of Charles Autumn and Sarah Robinson Hartman. He married Mary Margaret Hoydrick, March 21, 1918, in Schenectady, N.Y. She died Feb. 2, 1971.

He was employed with the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown, owned a mink Ranch in New York and had been justice of the peace for Schoharie County, New York. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the American Legion, Mediapolis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War I. He had lived with his daughter in Sperry from 1971 to 1985.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Peggy(Jack)Schulte, Sperry; one sister, Evelyn Moore, Strafford, Conn.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Lunning chapel.

The service for Mr. Hartman will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Philip Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the St. Francis Continuation Care center.
