Virginia Timmerman
Virginia M. Timmerman, 90, of Burlington, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at her home.

Born Jan. 23, 1919, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of Bufford and Lavienia Burkett. On Dec. 14, 1935, she married Earnest A. Timmerman in Burlington. He died Sept. 30, 2002.

Mrs. Timmerman was a homemaker. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Survivors include one son, Earnest Timmerman of Burlington; three daughters, Melody Peterson of Burlington, Diane Miller of West Burlington, and Joyce Colton of Texas; 27 grandchildren; eight-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Corman and Nellie Hill, both of Burlington; nieces; and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sons.

A celebration of her life will be in the spring of 2010.

Cremation has been accorded.

The Hass-Thielen Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
