Andreas Benedict (Andrew Bendix), who was a native of the fatherland and had reached the fine age of 80 years and 7 months, passed away yesterday morning. He came to Burlington with his family in 1871, making this city his home. The good wife and two children preceded him to the beyond, and for the past ten years the old man had been making his home with his son, Clement (Christopher), five miles southwest of the city on the Middle Augusta road. Deceased was an honorable upright man, who enjoyed the confidence and respect of all who knew him. The funeral will take place from Shiloh church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be made in Avery cemetery.
