Mary Ann Dunegan
Mary Ann Dunegan, 76, of Burlington, died at 6 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2006, at her home.
Born June 4, 1929, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Harry Jacob and Gertrude Louise Chapman "Billie" Gahn. On Sept. 19, 1946, she married James William Dunegan Sr. He died June 14, 1997.
Mrs. Dunegan worked in production at IRC for seven years, worked in housekeeping for the Burlington Apartments for 16 years and worked at the Century 21 office.
She attended Burlington schools. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, knitting, growing tomatoes, music, gambling on the boat and playing cards with her kids. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one son, James William Dunegan Jr. of Danville; two special sons, Dave (Debi) Bouge of Burlington and Jim (Karen) Polen of Burlington; three daughters, Christine (Tim) Bernhart of Burlington, Debra (Jeff) Vierling of Mediapolis and Ronda McGowan of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Richter of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Jeanette Mehaffy of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers, Gene, Jerry, Bob, Kenny, Richard, John and Jim; one sister, Vickie; and one granddaughter, Shana Cae Dunegan.
Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel after 11:00 A.M. today, with the family receiving friends from 1:30 until the time of service.
The funeral for Mrs. Dunegan will be at 2:30 P.M. today at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Frank Beaty officiating.
Graveside Ash committal will be on Monday, June 5, 2004, at 2:30 P.M. at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
