John Gahn
John W. Gahn, 78, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Born March 27, 1924, in Burlington, he was the son of Harry and Louise Gahn. He married Virginia "Ginny" Grant, also a resident of Burlington, May 27, 1944.
He graduated from Burlington High School and the University of Oklahoma.
He was a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel serving as a pilot during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was also a Mason, a Shriner, and a Daedalian.
Survivors include his wife, Ginny; one daughter, Susan McMillen of Colorado Springs; one son, John of Canon City, Colo.; six grandchildren; one brother, Jim Gahn of West Burlington; and three sisters, Dolores Richter of Grand Junction, Colo., Mary Ann Dunegan of Burlington and Jeanette Mehaffy of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
A celebration of his life was held at a memorial service May 4 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
