Raymond A.C. Bendix

Raymond A.C. Bendix, 81, of 1141 S. Garfield, died in University Hospitals, Iowa City, at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25.

He was born April 3, 1900, to Chris and Mathilda Swobe Bendix, in Burlington, where he married Mabel Ruth Koble on June 23, 1962. He had married Hazel Franzen Sept. 15, 1923; she died Oct. 10, 1959.

Mr. Bendix was a Burlington Northern Railroad machinist, retiring in 1965. He was a member of Messiah Luthern Church, Illiamo Airstream Club, and Pensioners and Burlington Veterans clubs.

Surviving: The Wife; two daughters, Bonnie Bailey, Houston, Texas, and Dorcus Manning, Eden Prairie, Minn.; and three grandsons.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Messiah Lutheran Church, the Rev. Donald Hoornstra; Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial for Messiah Lutheran Church has been established at Lunning Chapel.
