Russell Seymour

Russell Burke Seymour, 82, of Danville, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, at New London Care Center.

Born Jan. 5, 1914, in Danville, he was the son of Guy and Ada Burke Seymour. He married Velda Hanks June 16, 1937, in Burlington.

A life-long resident of Danville, Mr. Seymour was a farmer. He was a member of Danville United Methodist Church, Danville Masonic Lodge No.48 A.F. & A.M., and Danville Order of Eastern Star No. 514 and was a past member of the boards of directors of Danville High School, Federal Land Bank and Danville State Savings Bank. He had served as Grand Tyler of the Grand Lodge of Iowa from 1979-1980.

Survivors include his wife; one son, John Seymour of Danville and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one son and one granddaughter.

Visitation begins after noon Friday at Elliot Chapel in New London, where the family will receive friends between 7 and 9 p.m. and Masonic rites held at 6:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Seymour will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Danville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Donald Linne officiating. Burial will be in Jaggar Cemetery in Danville.

A memorial has been established for Danville United Methodist church and Danville Masonic Lodge.
