Wilma Cousins
Wilma June Cousins, 78, of West Burlington, died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born June 23, 1929, in Wyaconda, Mo., she was the daughter of William Jackson and Julie Irene Fitzgerald Goben. On Dec. 24, 1947, she married Arthur Lester Cousins. He died Aug. 26, 1979.

Mrs. Cousins worked at Emerson Electric in Mount Pleasant. She was a contractor inspector at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and a supervisor at Chittenden Eastman in Burlington. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Baptist Church. She enjoyed animals, flowers, bowling, ceramics, crossword puzzles and was a Hawkeye basketball and football fan.

Survivors include one son, Randy Cousins of Burlington; one daughter, Cheryl Cousins of West Burlington; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Peggy Shupe of Bethany, Mo.; one brother, Jerry Goben of Overland Park, Kan.; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, her parents and one sister.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral for Mrs. Cousins will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Randy Gearhardt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.

A memorial has been established for PAW Animal Shelter in Fort Madison.
