Dorothy Swenson
Dorothy Mae Swenson, 90, of Burlington, died at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at home.

Born Aug. 29, 1917, in Escanaba, Mich., she was the daughter of Harry and Adella Hakes Erickson. On April 3, 1937, she married Victor Swenson in Winona, Minn. He died May 25, 1988.

Mrs. Swenson was a supervisor for Kresge and Kmart. She retired Oct. 30, 1978. She graduated from Winona High School in 1935. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Burlington Women's Club.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Swenson of Burlington; twin daughters, Sharon Sink of Portland, Ore., and Karen Reed of Lincoln City, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers Ronald Erickson of Burlington and Harwood Erickson of Indianapolis, Ind.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The graveside funeral for Mrs. Swenson will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Aspen Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Russel Kobs officiating.

Memorials have been established for Our Savior Lutheran Church and Great River Hospice.
