John Danover

John J. Danover, 73, of rural West Point, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born July 23, 1931, in rural West Point, he was the son of Eugene Merle and Sarah J. Enslow Danover. On Feb. 7, 1953, he married Maejean L. Staub in Fort Madison.

Mr. Danover was a retired farmer. He was a lifelong resident of the West Point area. He was a member of the board of directors of State Central bank for 25 years and a 25-year-member of the Eagles.

Survivors includes his wife; two sons, Randy Danover of Marion and Rick Danover of Fort Madison; five grandchildren and one sister, Marilyn Malcom of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Link Funeral Home in West Point, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Danover will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Link Funeral home with the Rev. Richard Eis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery north of Fort Madison.

Memorials have been established for the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
