Helen Ruth Behne, 85, of West Burlington, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday,Mar ch 12, 1997 at Burl ington Medical Center.

Born Jan. 1, 1912, in Dallas City, Ill., she was the daughter of Woodsona nd Grace Taylor. o n Jan. 20, 1940, she married John Edward Behne in Dallas City, Ill. He died Sept. 29, 1985.

Mrs. Behne had been a secretary with Alexander Lumber Co. of Oswego, Ill.

She was a member of Eastern Star and Presbyterian Church of Oswego, Ill.

Survivors include one nephew, Robert Crist of Cerritos, Calif.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and two nephews.

Friends may call after noon Sunday at Purgh's Chapel.
There will be no family visitation.

A graveside service for Mrs. Behne will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Burlington Memorial Park Cem etery. with the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating.

A memorial has been established for Presbyterian Church of Oswego.
