Norma Gilbreath

Norma Gilbreath, 93, of rural Gays, Ill., formerly of Burlington, died at 9:07 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Mattoon Health Center in Mattoon, Ill.

Born Feb. 14, 1911, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Henry and Emma Westerbeck Grupe. On May 30, 1946, she married Hebron "Jack" Gilbreath in Anchorage, Alaska. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1979.

Mrs. Gilbreath worked as a secretary for Alaska Freight Lines.

She was of Christian faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Trucilla Hosler of Anchorage; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends.

The funeral for Mrs. Gilbreath will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Lunning Chapel. Burial will be in Old Stone Cemetery in rural Sperry.

A memorial has been established for Hope Haven, 1819 Douglas Ave. Burlington, Iowa 52601.
