Elsie Heater
Elsie Luella Heater, 93, of New London, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born May 12, 1914, in Grand River, she was the daughter of Hugh and Mary Ruth Kemp Glazebrook. On Oct. 4, 1934, she married Loyd Harlan Foland. They later divorced. On June 20, 1945, she married Max Heater. He died Jan. 20, 1965.

Mrs. Heater was a homemaker. She also worked at the Iowa Ordinance Plant in Middletown and the New London Glove Factory. She worked as a nurse's aide for 15 years. She enjoyed embroidering and flowers.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Heater of Burlington, Richard Foland of Russell; two daughters, Deloris Gwinn of Osceola, Marylou Terry of Burlington; one brother, Francis Glazebrook of Des Moines; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter.

The graveside funeral service for Mrs. Heater will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Burge Cemetery in New London.

A memorial has been established.
