Norman Folker
Norman Neal Folker, 69, of Brooklet, Ga., formerly of Burlington, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, in Savannah, Ga.

Born June 29, 1938, in Burlington, he was the son of Cyrus H. and Aletha Folker. On Nov. 2, 1957, he married Marion Abbadusky in Burlington.

Mr. Folker was a heavy equipment operator with construction companies in the Quad Cities area from 1970 until 1997, when he moved to Savannah and continued to work in construction. He was a member of Operator Engineers Local No. 150. He was an Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Dwayne Folker of Milan, Ill.; one daughter, Kristine Whatley of Ellabell, Ga.; four grandchildren; five sisters, Virginia Carnes of Gladstone, Ill., Verna Lubke and Joyce Rutledge, both of Warsaw, Mo., Sharon Folker of Burlington and Delores Muser of New Boston, Ill.; five brothers, Marvin Folker of Moline, Ill., Ronald Folker of Wyaconda, Mo., James Folker of Mount Sterling, Paul Folker of Burlington and Steve Folker of Farmington; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one son.

Private services were in Savannah.

Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory of Savannah assisted the family with the arrangements.
