Donald E. Avery

Donald E. Avery, 57, of West Burlington, died 2:29 a.m., Sunday, March 19, 1989, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born June 16, 1931, in Stronghurst, Ill., he was the son of Joe and Nellie Wolford Avery.

He was raised and educated in the Stronghurst and Media, Ill., areas.

Surviving are his mother, Media, Ill.; three sons, Ronald Avery and Donald Avery, both of Burlington, and William Avery, Kirkwood, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Marie(Jim)Remick, Burlington, and Donna Ford, Mediapolis; four brothers, Charles Avery, Burlington, Lee Avery, Media, Ill., Eldon Avery, New Hope, Pa., and Larry Avery, Donnellson; two sisters, Mrs. Helen(Louis)Hobby, Burlington, and Mrs. Shirley(Kendall)Furniss, Media, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be after noon Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Banks & Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst, Ill., with the Rev. Ernest Peterson officiating. Burial will be Stronghurst Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
