Erla Staff

Erla Anna Staff, 84, Burlington, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 1998. at the West Point Care Center.

Born Dec. 22, 1913, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John and Florence Vollmer Salome. On Nov. 20, 1933, she married John Staff in Burlington. He died June 22, 1975.

Mrs. Staff was a farm wife and worked at IRC for nine years.

She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Women of the Moose and Eagle Auxiliary, all of Burlington.

Survivors include one son, Marlan Staff of Burlington; one daughter, Shirley Sullivan of Burlington; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one aunt.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be after 8 a.m. today at Hass Funeral home, Burlington, where the family will receive friends fron 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Staff will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hass Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Milo Van Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established to the First United Church of Christ.
