John A. Staff

John A. Staff, 66, 1119 S. Garfield, was dead on arrival at Burlington Memorial hospital at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, June 22.

He was born Oct. 14, 1908, in Des Moines county, the son of Ralph and Hulda Peterson Staff. He married Erla A. Salome, in Burlington Nov. 30, 1933. He farmed in Des Moines and Lee counties for many years, and for the past six years worked at the General Electric plant in West Burlington. He was a member of First United Church of Christ.

Surviving: the wife; two children, Marlan, New London Rt.2, and Mrs. Robert(Shirley) Sullivan, Dyer, Ind.; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Prugh's Chapel, Rev. Ernest Ellmers; Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Ft. Madison. A memorial has been established at First United Church of Christ.
