Frances Shepherd

Frances Mary Shepherd, 86, of Burlington, died at 2:05 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Burlington Care Center.

Born Aug. 1, 1920, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Rueben James and Florence Sheets Bowman. On Sept. 16, 1939, she married Robert Chancellor Shepherd in Kahoka, Mo. He died Aug. 1, 2002.

She was a homemaker. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, antiques and "yard saling," and loved to cook.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Fenton and Vicky Shepherd of Burlington; one son, Tim Shepherd of Burlington; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and six brothers.

Friends may call this afternoon until 7 p.m. in Lunning Chapel.

The funeral for Mrs. Shepherd will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel with the family receiving friends for one hour prior to the time of service. The Rev. Roger Moore will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's associations.
