Fredrick St. Ores

Fredrick R. St. Ores, 81, of Dallas City, Ill., died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Ill.

Born Nov. 2, 1918, in Dallas City, Ill., he was the son of Walter and Sara Boggess St. Ores. On Dec. 12, 1941, he married Dorothy Hardisty in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. St. Ores worked for Winegard Co. in Burlington for 15 years and J.I. Case Co. for 12 years, retiring in 1981.

He was a 1936 graduate of Dallas City High School and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He was a member of Pontoosuc Community Church, Dallas City American Legion and Dallas City Senior Citizens. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Fort Madison and the Eagles in Burlington.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Stan St. Ores of Colusa, Ill.; one daughter, Pat Briscoe of Carthage, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl St. Ores of Fort Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. St. Ores will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lee Unger officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City.

Memorials have been established for Pontoosuc Community Church and Dallas City Senior Citizens.
