Jewell Sherwood

Jewell G. Sherwood, 92, of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Danville, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Sunwest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sun City West.

Born Sept. 16, 1910, in Downing, Mo., she was the daughter of Frank and Rebecca Anderson Wineinger. On June 9, 1936, she married Arthur Sherwood. He died Jan. 28, 1973.

Mrs. Sherwood was a graduate of Keokuk High School. She and her husband owned and operated the Phillips 66 station in Danville. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Shiela Naffziger of Peoria, Ariz.; two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

A graveside memorial service and inurnment for Mrs. Sherwood will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jaggar Cemetery in Danville with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating.
