DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Helen E. Woerdehoff, 81, of Dyersville, died after a short illness Sunday, July 26, 1998, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.

She was born on Feb. 23, 1917, in Dyersville, daughter of Bernard L. "Ben" and Amelia (Wessels) Neuhaus. She married Elmer Kennelly in June 1938; he died on June 12, 1945. She then married Gilbert Woerdehoff on Feb. 4, 1947, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica.

She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and the Dyersville Historical Society.

Surviving are her husband; two sisters, Norman Klostermann, of Dyersville, and Verna (Dick) Jordan, of Swisher; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gilbert J. Neuhaus.
