DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Lois A. (Jasper) Hoeger, 79, of 560 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville, passed away at 1:55 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at her home, surrounded by family.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Dennis Quint officiating and Deacon Dan Hoeger assisting. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Dyersville. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Reiff Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m. with Dan Hoeger officiating.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1931, in Farley, daughter of Tony and Clara (Anstoetter) Jasper. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Farley.

She married Joseph Hoeger on May 1, 1951, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farley.

Lois was employed as a secretary and clerk at several businesses in Dyersville.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Hoeger, of Dyersville; four daughters, Carol (Dave) Johnson, of Iowa City, Margie (Bob) Waechter and Jane (Dean) Wessels, both of Dyersville, and Sara (Rich) Halberg, of Madison, Wis.; three sons, Kevin (Teresa) Hoeger, of Bucyrus, Ohio, Steve (Karen) Hoeger, of Peosta, and Dave (Jane) Hoeger, of Farley; a daughter-in-law, Kathy (Roger) Hoeger Riesberg, of Dyersville; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sr. Mary Karen Jasper, PVBM, of Dubuque, and Mary Smith, of Key West, Iowa; five sisters-in-law, Vera Curtis, of Dyersville, Delores Klostermann, of Dubuque, Betty Jasper, of Farley, Clara Mae Hoeger, of Dyersville, and Lois Jasper, of Peosta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Kenny and Bob Hoeger; two grandchildren, Timothy Johnson and Jody Waechter in infancy; three brothers, John Jasper in infancy; Roy and Jim Jasper; two sisters, Sr. Mary Philip Jasper and Rita (Gerald) Schwendinger; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Paul Curtis, Vern Klostermann, Val Beyke, Orlin Smith, Bernard (Kay) Hoeger, Al (Dorothy) Hoeger, Tony (Gladys) Hoeger and Frank Hoeger.
