DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Jerome "Jerry" Hildebrand, 57, of Dyersville, died of cancer Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.

He was born on March 22, 1942, in Dubuque, son of Albert and Mary (Miller) Hildebrand. He married Phyllis Gaul on Nov. 7, 1964, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; four brothers, Tom (Elaine), of Dubuque, Steve, of Dyersville, Richard, of Camarillo, Calif., and Albert Jr. (Kelly), of Dixon, Ill.; seven sisters, Mary Frances (Glen) Milligan and Joyce Hildebrand, both of Dubuque, Cathy (Roger) Bartels, of Durango, Verna (Vesse) Klostermann, of Edgewood, Carol (David) Gaul, of Guttenberg, Gladys Gaul, of Dyersville, and Norma (Dick) Kelchen, of Farley; a stepbrother, Norlan (Cindy) Hinke, of DeWitt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen Hildebrand, of Holy Cross, Paul (Joyce) Wagner, of Asbury, Helen Hildebrand, of Bankston, Elaine (David) Shaw, of Springville, John (Kay) Gaul, of Peosta, Daniel (Barbara) Gaul, of New Vienna, Patrick (Judy) Gaul, of Luxemburg, and Karla (Bob) Kluesner, of Farley; a family friend, Alvin Goepfert, of Maquoketa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Mary Hildebrand; his stepmother, Gladys Goepfert; three brothers, Robert, Leonard and Loras Hildebrand; a sister, Ruth Wagner; two nephews, Daniel Wagner and Kenneth Klostermann; a stepbrother, Stan Hinke; and his mother and father-in-law, George and Alice Gaul.
