I located Dan Sark in the 1930 census at the Lutheran Orphan & Old People's Home in Muscatine, IA Date of the census was 2 April 1930. I also found a death date of 28 September 1930. I also wrote to the Lutheran Home there asking for more information; but never reeived a reply. I have no information on his burial location. My intended next step was to find an Iowa death certificate from Muscatine County. Sometimes they inlude the burial location.

Dan Sark had an interesting life. He seemed to have spent years visiting relatives in Missouri and Illinois (Bureau County). My father had a number of stories about "Uncle Dan" who would visit family membeers and stay weeks at a time. You may have noted that Dan does not appear on the 1920 census with his wife and son, Howard.

I live in suburban Chicago. Are you near Muscatine; and could deal with county authorities on a possible death certificate?
