On January 18th, 1866, Mr. Nash was married to Miss Sarah Smith, whose parents were also among the first settlors in this vicinity. They lived for a number of years on a farm near Delaware, moving to Hopkinton in 1884, which has been their home until the death of Mrs. Nash, which occurred April 11, 1916. To them were born four children, three passing away infancy, Myrtle living to the age of about fifteen . Mr. and Mrs. Nash were both devoted to the work of the Presbyterian Church, she being the superintendent of the Sunday School for a time, and he an elder for nearly thirty years. His father united with the church in 1859, he was chosen soon after as an elder, and his brother Amaziah Jr., was also an elder. Mr. Nash had been in failing health for some time and since Mrs. Nash’s death he had been cared for by his nephew S. P. Carter, who had been his faithful companion. The funeral services were held from the residence on Tuesday, conducted by the pastor Rev. W. H. Ensign.
