The funeral of Mrs. Clara Dunlap, whom passed away Saturday after an illness of several months, were held Monday afternoon in the Covenanter Church, of which she was a devoted and faithful member. The services were conducted by Rev. G. S. Coleman, the pastor, assisted by Rev. J. Johnson and Dr. W. H. Ensign, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Dunlap was born in Putnam, in northwestern New York, August 9, 1833, the daughter of Abel and Isabella Comstock. She was nine years old when her parents moved to Dubuque County, settling near Whitewater. On May 26th, 1860, she was married to James B. Dunlap and they went to live on a farm near Hazel Green, where they lived a great part if their married life. They moved to Hopkinton on 1886. There where ten children, two of whom died infancy, five have gone before, and five remain, John A. of Manchester, Mrs. Ida B. Andrews of Lebeka, Minn., James E. Hazel Green, Miss Mae of Hopkinton and Dr. D. L. of Detroit. There are twenty-one grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dunlop was reared in a devoutly religious home and was herself an early professing Christian. She was also greatly interested in the temperance cause and a member of the W. C. T. Enduring her residence in Hopkinton.
