Deaths of the Week -
Mrs. Harvey Merten
Earlville: Mrs. Harvey (Lillian) Merten, 67, of Earlville died early Monday morning at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
Funeral services were held at the Earlville United Methodist church at 2: p.m. Wednesday. Burial was made in Fairview cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Unglesbee officiated at the service. The Clifton funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Lillian Kluckhohn, daughter of Karl and Effie Lickel Kluckhohn, was born at Stitzer, Wis., July 19, 1883. She was graduated from the Charles City college.
She was married to Harvey Merten at Charles City March 17, 1909. Mrs. Merten was a member of Earlville United Methodist church and an active member of the Women's Society of Christian Service until her health failed.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Verne (Jean) Hermann of Manchester; two grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
