Pneumonia Causes Young Man's Death
Albert S. Kling Dies at His Home Early Monday
Albert S. Kling died at the home of his parents, in this city, early Monday morning, April 30, 1917, after an illness of two weeks. About two weeks ago Mr. Kling was taken ill with a severe cold, which soon developed into pneumonia. After a brave struggle against this insidious disease, he was compelled to give up the fight and he passed away peacefully at an early hour Monday morning.
Funeral service was held from the family home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. C. K. Hudson, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church conducted the service. Internment was made in Oakland cemetery.
Mr. Kling was born in Masonville, Iowa, September 29, 1884, and lived there until he was nine years of age. At that time the family moved to Manchester, which has been their home since. As a boy he attended the public schools in Masonville and Manchester.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kling, one brother, Floyd Kling of Mankato, Minnesota, and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Hermann, of near Manchester, and the Misses Ola and Dorothy Kling, at home.
Mr. Kling was a young man of many likable qualities. In the home he was kind and thoughtful, and spared no efforet to assist his parents, especially so during the recent months when his father was so critically ill. During these long and weary weeks he stood by his father and mother in unselfish service and devotion. During recent years he did considerable carriage and sign painting, and was a skilled workman. He was a member of the Fraternal Union, retaining his membership in that order until his death. His death was a grevious blow to his parents, and those who were attached by tender ties, and the sorrow that has come to the home is shared by many friends.
