The Telegraph Herald – October 27, 1949

Manchester, Ia. – Roy Lorenza Aldrich, 62, Hazel Green Township farmer, died Wednesday of a heart attack at his home southeast of Ryan, the Shelley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements the Rev. Douglas Brewer will officiate at the church at Golden and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Aldrich was born June 4, 1887 in Hazel Green Township, Delaware County, the son of Henry and Emma (Belding) Aldrich. He was educated in the rural schools and with the exception of six years in Linn County has spent the entire life in Delaware County. On May 1, 1908, he married Gladys Hickman at Manchester, he was a member of the Golden Congregational Church.

Besides his wife, of Ryan, he is survived by three sons, Milton E., Ronald L., And Raymond R,., all of Coggon; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Garner, of Ryan; two brother, Erza, of Ryan, and Floyd, of Hollywood, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Dale, of Oneida, and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded by a daughter, son, three sisters and three brothers.
