The Telegraph Herald – October 27, 1949

Manchester, Ia. – Services for Mrs. Charles Wendt, 55, of near Delaware County, who died Tuesday night at a Cedar Rapids hospital after a long illness, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Delaware with the Rev. Theo Rottman officiating and burial in Pine View Cemetery at Delaware.

Hilda Louise Gienapp, daughter of Fred and Bertha Gienapp, was born May 18, 1894 at Hopkinton. She attended public schools there and on March 6, 1918 was married to Charles Wendt.

Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Dale, and a daughter, Mrs. Erwin (Zada) Wendt, both of Delaware; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Burrack, of Hopkinton, Mrs. Ella Harder, of Manchester, and Mrs. Clara Pierce, of LaPorte City; two brothers, Rudolph and Paul, of Hopkinton, and a grandson. She was preceded by two sisters.
