DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Clarence C. Riesberg, 91, of Dyersville, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, following a short illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m.

Mr. Riesberg worked as farm equipment mechanic for Koelker Implement in Dyersville for many years.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1912, in New Vienna, son of Anton and Mary (Eikens) Riesberg. He married Berneice Boge on June 21, 1938, in Dyersville; she preceded him in death on April 14, 1987.

He was a member of the Dyersville Sportsman Club and Knights of Columbus Council 1734. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing.

Surviving are four sons, Donald (Donna), Justin "Sarge" (Mary Lynn), Roger (fiance, Kathy Hoeger) and Clair (Doris), all of Dyersville; a daughter, Judy (Roger) Westemeier, of Dyersville; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Irene Kramer, of Epworth, Kay Besler, of Dyersville, and Alita Koeneke, of Manchester.

He also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jean Riesberg, on June 17, 2002; a grandson, Randy Westemeier, on July 6, 1991; a great-granddaughter, Kallie Fowler; and two sisters, Liddie Cordeiro and Esther Riesberg.

A memorial fund has been established.
