DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Services for Anthony H. "Tony" Pins, 75, 719 Seventh Ave. S.E., Dyersville, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Pins was employed at Three Rivers FS as a petroleum salesman for more than 40 years.

He was born on Feb. 19, 1922, in Worthington, son of John and Veronica (Ament) Pins. He died after a brief illness Friday morning, March 28, 1997, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.

He married Lois E. Goerdt on May 25, 1948, in Dyersville.

He was a former member of the Dyersville Planning and Zoning Board; the Dyersville Commercial Club board of directors; and a 50-year member of the Farm Bureau. Tony also sang with the St. Francis Xavier Basilica choir for 50 years and belonged to the SPEBSQUA Barbershop Chorus. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1734 and a Fourth Degree with the Dubourg Assembly.

Surviving are his wife, Lois; four daughters, Suzanne Pins, Nancy (Joe) Knepper, and Jan (Dan) Smith, all of Dubuque, and Audrey (Jim) Golden, of Hazel Green, Wis.; a son, Ken (Kim) Pins, of Rockville, Md.; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mary Goedken, of Monticello, and Clara Pins, of Dyersville; three brothers, Vince (Clara) Pins, of Cedar Rapids, and George (Shirley) Pins, and Cy (Doris) Pins, both of Dyersville; and four sisters-in-law, Eileen and Lorraine Pins, both of Dyersville, Ethel Pins, of Earlville, and Eldora Pins, of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sister Mary Ernest, OSF, and Therese Pins; and six brothers, Bert, Jim, Mark, Louis, Jerome and Paul Pins.
